Career Training

At this level students train for employment and/or post-secondary education in a specific range of occupations.

Activities may include:

  • Internships
  • Clinical Experiences
  • On-the-job training
  • Work Experience

Xochitl Rodriguez  

Intern student, Xochitl Rodriguez, a senior in the Health Academy, with news reporter Xochitl Pena of The Desert Sun. The two women became acquainted at the Women Leader’s Forum luncheon last Friday and, having similar first names, immediately made a connection.
Ms. Pena quoted Xochitl in her news report the following day after the event.

Brando Moreno Hernandez  

Brando Moreno Hernandez, a senior PALM student, who is interning at the Palm Springs Animal Shelter. With him is Marta Rueda, RVT.
Brando is in the operating room with Marta assisting her with getting the puppy ready for surgery.
 Florencio Flores  

Job shadowing at RR Radio was Business Academy student Florencio Flores. Here is a photo of him with General Manager and KDES Morning Radio Show hosts Jack Broady and Jennifer Heggie.
Florencio was interviewed on the radio about his “Geekified TV” online Internet presence of which he is the creator and producer. Ted Calouri of SunUp Rotary assisted with setting up the job shadow opportunity for Florencio.
